The Star and The Little Girl

The cloud that hides
The moon at night
Also hides a twinkling star

The light of which
Travelled from far
Could not pierce
A veil of cloud

A child awaits
A twinkling star
From the story she had read
Only to look into the sky
And see a ball of cloud

But when the sun,
A closer star is up,
It traps the cloud
In a dreamy trance

And the little girl
Who sees the sun,
A fiery ball
And not a twinkle
In the sky.
