Where the Nights Go

In response to Cubby’s Prompt: Homophone Misuse

Gone are the days of princesses
And nights in shining armour
That brave bad weathers
Two reach the hunted keep

Gone are the goodly goodly times
Of balls, tee parties and knight picnics
Of Halloween parties that reek of blood
That stream and make careful children

Sleep into gory oblivions
That time could knot heel
And even though it tried,
It, like the little children slip

Into its gentle oblivion
And you wonder where, where
The knight has gone in his shiny armour
That shines in the gloomy son.

  1. Lol the rather somber tone of this piece contrasts beautifully with the silly homophones, especially “in the gloomy son.” Fantastic response to the challenge! 🙂
