At sundown
her demons start to form
her mind grows damp
and begins to branch out
like a luxurious tree in spring

At midnight
flowers blossom
and turn to fruits
held together in pods
that go bursting
as she stirs
closer to the day

The seeds laid
for tomorrow’s dream
echoes and reflects
in her shrinking spine,
a bitter lacerated tongue
turns her mouth
into a putrid mound
her belly, a graveyard
forcing bowel churns
till sundown
when her nightmare
begins again
